The Professor

After graduating from college, young William Crimsworth goes to work for his wealthy brother Edward, his only remaining relative. As an accountant in the business, his brother soon notices his intelligence and becomes jealous.
Edward subjects him to abuse and humiliation until Mr. Hunsden, a young man of high society, hires William to teach at an all-boys’ boarding school in Belgium. William’s teaching skills reach the ears of Miss Reuter, headmistress of the nearby girls’ school, who offers him a place at her institution. William eventually falls in love with her, but that’s not all: the woman entrusts him with a young teacher, Frances, who is eager to perfect her English. A love quarrel arises between the two women and William, inevitably leading to unexpected consequences.
